                     I am a first-generation American, first-generation college graduate, and first-generation
higher ed professional. As the daughter of Salvadoran immigrants who fled a civil
war and took ESL classes in their new country, I am passionate about advocating for
students both inside and outside the classroom. My experiences as a bilingual, bicultural,
and neurodivergent individual from a working class background have fueled my dedication
to merging academic services with student support, with the aim of holistically empowering
                           students.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I am a wife to a fellow first-gen ESL/English educator,
a sister to a social services worker and TESL instructor, a proud tia, and a dog mom to two mixed German Shepherd rescues. In my free time, I enjoy traveling,
putting together puzzles, dancing in my kitchen, and embracing continuous learning.
I am excited to be a part of the Raices community and eager to learn from and collaborate with all of you!
